I'm trying to figure out how to take advantage of this. . .

I signed up to start going to a boot camp at 6 am Monday - Thursday. It is held outside at a park near my house. I had a consultation with the instructor today and she gave me some good pointers on diet and such, too. I have always hated counting calories or even dieting really, but there's this great app for the iPhone (and most app capable phones I think) called Lose It, which does all the counting for you. You only have to put in foods you eat regularly once, and it saves them for you. So now I know that I have 500 calories left for the day. Which means I have to figure out what to eat for dinner and make sure I eat it. Can't go starving myself.

Yup. It's going pretty good. I haven't been able to get up at 5:30 am every day of the week so far, but maybe this will be the week I do it. But I've been going 3 days a week, which is still good. I'm slowly working my way into it, so I'm not killing myself yet. I'm halfway through my 4 weeks and as of now I plan to continue next month.

So I've been backing hitting the weights lately and earlier this week was doing my favorite exercise, the lat pulldown. I decided to go for the gold and beat a max weight I set a long time ago and haven't been able to beat. So I set the weight to 270 and went for it.

And holy fuck I did it. I felt like a god.

Jesus, my bench numbers aren't anywhere near that, well done.

For anyone not on my FB: I need to raise at least $100 for the American Lung Association in order to participate in a cool stair climbing race they're holding in Fort Myers on May 1st. My pledge page is here: http://www.mrsnv.com/evt/e01/part.jsp?r ... 9001414419

Anything you donate would be super cool.

But I know for a fact I can't run for 10 miles without keeling over dead so you got me beat on that at least. Running has never been my strong suit so I just devoted all my time into lifting. Its more fun for me.

A little something to get you started....

But when I went back to your page, it doesn't show up right away. Not sure how long its supposed to take to reflect on your fundraising total.

Thanks a lot man. The fundraising page updated your donation. I'll dedicate flight number one to you!

Donated. Good luck! I am super-jealous that you get to go inside of those buildings (that's downtown, right?) because I have ALWAYS been curious about them. You will have to snap me a picture while you're there.

Have you met my back lately? It is shaped like this:

S

and just walking too roughly makes it hurt. :(

When is this event? I'm pretty fucking broke right now but if you can wait 2 weeks till I get paid then I can donate some cash money to you.

Also, the benchpress machine at work makes me feel like a total pussy. I know for a fact I can push up at least 200 pounds but with the press at work I can barely push up 150. It sucks.

The stair climb isn't until May 1st, so there's plenty of time!

I've made some pretty steady gains on my deadlift and should put 220 tonight if all goes well. A lot of my other lifts have plateaued and I had to back up on my assisted pull ups after I didn't do them for almost two weeks on vacation, but I'm putting on a lot of muscle right now so I hope that I might be able to do an unassisted pull up by my birthday, June 1st.

My best thing when my maxes plateaued was to just put tons of weight down, get a spotter and lift it forever. Go until my arms cant move anymore, drop the weight, wait a couple minutes, and repeat. As long as your not trying to lift way out of your league(say going to 300 from 220) you should be alright barring anything crazy happening.

I also get all my deadlifts in at work picking up residents. I don't know an exact number but some of them are pretty fucking heavy.

Just a reminder that the last few days to pledge me for the stair climb are coming up. Once again, my donation page is here: http://www.mrsnv.com/evt/e01/part.jsp?r ... 9001414419
